Sometimes it can seem there isn’t a good explanation for something other than the involvement of a higher power.
In the eyes of a Kentucky woman, that is the case as she believes her unborn baby has been blessed by ‘the hand of God’ after a strange object appeared in her ultrasound.
The 32-week scan appears to show a large hand caressing the head of the unborn baby in the mother’s womb.
The visible answer to her prayers happened to Amanda Foster, 33, who is currently eight months pregnant with a boy.
She said she has “asked the lord repeatedly to please keep his hand on my baby” before every appointment after he was diagnosed with a heart condition early in the pregnancy.
There was a problem with the wall that separates parts of the heart near the aorta, which is the large artery that carries blood from the heart to the body and can be life threatening.
The divine sign from God captured in the image has made its rounds online and has gone viral.
While Foster and her husband Kyle believe that it was God protecting their son after the diagnosis was given, people are agreeing with the couple, calling the ultrasound “amazing” and “a miracle.”
But others have suggested that it’s the unborn baby’s hand, enlarged and distorted during the ultrasound.
“We prayed and prayed along with several others. When we followed up with a specialist, it was gone,” Foster shared on Facebook. “I have been so thankful that I’ve begun to pray before every appointment.”
This is after the Fosters suffered a tragic loss.
Amanda Foster was pregnant with her first son, who was diagnosed at 18 weeks with Potter syndrome – a condition that happens when the baby’s kidneys don’t develop properly or are missing. The condition hinders lung development and restricts the baby’s position in the womb, causing a flattened face, low-set ears, and limb deformities.
Due to these issues, Potter syndrome is considered a terminal diagnosis and Foster lost her first child.
“My thought at that time was, ‘Well, if God is going to take my son, He will take me too!’’ Foster shared, per the Daily Mail.
“It didn’t work out that way, and I developed a deep resentment and anger toward God. If that wasn’t enough, I was later told it was very unlikely I would ever have a healthy baby boy since Potter’s syndrome is more common in males.”
Fortunately, the couple went on to welcome two healthy girls.
Glad that she was a mother, Foster never got through her trauma and admitted that she was “drowning in anger, pain, mind chaos and torture.”
“I never doubted that God wasn’t real, I just didn’t want anything to do with Him because of what He had done to me,” Foster shared
“I lived a very chaotic and miserable life for a while. I had finally given up. I was tired and completely broken when I turned my life over to Jesus Christ in September of 2021.”
That was when her life changed drastically because by November, she was pregnant.
“In March of 2022, I found out he was a boy and that he was healthy! He is now two, almost three! Fast forward to now, I found out I was pregnant with another baby boy, and this pregnancy has had its ups and downs,’ she said.
Foster took her youngest daughter, Bailey, along to the ultrasound with her and she was the one to point out the giant hand over her baby brother’s face.
“Thinking about [the ultrasound] more and more brought me to tears and filled me with gratitude for all God has and continues to do for me,” Foster shared.
